Good Day Out ?

I was thinking of taking a trip to the Duxford museum after i heard some good reports about it, anyone here been there? it's a fair trek down from Newcastle so i don't want to waste my time(and diesel ! ) if it's a no go

I used to work somwehere with a guy who had a son who had "special needs" - he was wheelchair bound. His dad frequently took him there from Aldershot, Hampshire - quite a trek, so I guess it must be worth it. Look at the website (link is posted in another reply above) and get plenty of info before your trip, to make sure you see the things that you want to see.

We took the kids there 20 years ago. We queued to get in in the morning and they had to throw us out in the evening.

 

I think that says it all - If it hasn't changed for the worse.

 

Sadly, all I can remember is that we still hadn't seen it all before closing time and, I suppose, it all depends on your interests but we all enjoyed it.
